New Zealand genius hour

This term I have been working on my genius hour about New zealand.

A genius hour is a time when you can pick a topic of your choice and you have to learn about that topic.

My Marae learning

Last Monday went on a school trip to the Marae.

We went to the Marae to learn about what happens there and about moāri.

Last Friday we went around to all the different classes to see what country they had been learning about. There was heaps of different countries that classes had been learning about our class had Ireland and my favorites countries were France and England.

For the last couple of weeks we had to create a slideshow about Ireland and the RWC. We had to include facts about Ireland,traditional foods and more. We also had to include facts about the RWC, the trophy,and some other facts.

Last week we had to create a Ireland flag.
We had to full it with things about Ireland, we had to change the color so that the things we put in are the same color of the flag.

Athletics day

Last week on Thursday  17th of October we had athletics day.
The sport we did was shot put,discus and high jump.

2 truths 1 lie

This morning we did 2 truths and 1 lie for writing time and once we had finished we had to share it with a buddy and they had to guess which ones were true and which one was a lie.

 2 truths and 1 lie is when you write down 2 true things that happened in the holiday and 1 thing that is a lie.

Flip out

Last week we went on a school trip to flip out. When we got there we were separated in classes and had to get 15 minutes at each little part of flip out rather then running around doing whatever we want.

Kapa Haka

2 weeks ago the Kapa Haka group went to horn castle arena for the cultural festival 2019!! We all had so much

fun. we were 2nd on stage and there were heaps of performances.

This term with miss Ellis we have been reading a book called wonder. The book has been really interesting.

plastic pollution

If you leave plastic anywhere sometimes even a bin because it might fall out it could end up in the ocean and could kill sea animals!!!

Last week me sophie and angelica created a google drawing about plastic pollution.

Have you ever picked up rubbish you find somewhere that it shouldn't be?

Have you ever thought about animals in the water getting stuck in plastic or eating it? Well everyone can help with all you need to do is put all your plastic in the bin and buy reusable stuff then you won’t have to worry about losing your stuff because it would be different to all the other drink bottles or you could use beeswax wrap instead of glad wrap.

A couple of weeks ago me Cheyenne and Olivia made a slide show about poor animals and why you should stop using plastic.

Have you ever thought about when you use plastic and how it can easily end up in the ocean if you don’t chuck it in the bin, well if you use reusable stuff rather than plastic it will help out heaps and the animals that live in the ocean won’t get affected by plastic.Last week in buddy class me,Sophie and angelica made a google drawing about plastic,picking up rubbish and saving animals. We have watching videos and learning about how the rubbish ends up in the ocean and how we can stop using plastic.

My star profile

This week we have been working on our own star profile, we had to put things about us on it. We did this because each day Mrs Ellis will pick someone to randomly pick a star for the day an d that person will be the star and will get a printed piece of paper with nice compliments we have said to them on.

baa baa black sheep story

This week we have been learning to do creative  writing and this is what I have came up with

One day the 4 animals go for a walk in around the farm While the master, the dame and the
boy are having tea in the shed and building a dog house… The animals then find themselves
face to face with a LION!!!!!!!!!!!! The animals run and run until they reach the village  and
a kind man kicked the lion away. Meanwhile back in the shed the master the dame and the
boy are hunting down the animals. But when they get to the lake they find the animals were
having a nice cold drink. The villagers made a song about about the animals ‘baa baa black
sheep have you any wool, yes sir yes sir three bags full, 1 for the master and 1 for the dame
and 1 for the little boy who lived down the lane.

hello my name is Grace, i am a student at parkview parua school.
I have heaps of friends that always make me laugh.
my favourite subject at school is writing and maths.
my favourite food would defenatly be macaroni and cheese.
uscually if i have nothing to do i play on my trampoline or play word scapes.
I love to spend time with my little sister katie because she is so fun to play with.
my best friends are called savannah,chloe and olivia.
